Thermal Mechanically Treated (TMT) bars, often known as TMT bars, are produced using a special process that gives them a hard exterior and a soft interior. This makes the TMT bar strong but also flexible. The steel is subjected to temperatures of up to 1100 degrees Celsius thanks to this innovative process. After the steel "billets" have been shaped in rolling mills, they are quickly chilled using a procedure called quenching, in which a high-pressure water spray cools the outside surface of the bars while the inner core cools gradually on cooling beds. The exterior portion of the bars is exceptionally strong thanks to the two-layer cooling process, while the inner core is more ductile.
